Anat Baniel Method® NeuroMovement® is a systematic and highly effective way to communicate with the brain and nervous system through differentiation, refinement and increased complexity of movement to upgrade the brain's functioning and make positive changes.

 

Our brains are constantly changing in response to our every experience. This is called neuroplasticity. These changes can be positive—leading us to greater well-being and a more vibrant life. Or the changes can be negative (back, neck, and joint pain or limitation, and the deterioration after trauma or as people age). Based on the latest neuroscience evidence,  Anat Baniel Method® NeuroMovement® harnesses neuroplasticity and wakes up the brain to create new connections and new patterns that improve physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being and supports positive change and new neural pathways. 

 

The power of the method is that it recognizes the holistic nature of the brain and the body. There is no fixing- just connecting- this method doesn't want to ”fix” but acknowledges the full possibilities of the human potential and ability of that brain and what it has yet to discover. NeuroMovement® is about connecting your brain to these possibilities to facilitate changes that perhaps once seemed beyond reach.

Who is Neuromovement for?

Kristen currently works with adults who:

  • Suffer from aches and pains 

  • Suffer from anxiety 

  • Suffer from chronic pain

  • Feel limited due to injury 

  • Have had a stroke or brain injury 

  • Have been diagnosed with a neurological disease such as Multiple Sclerosis or Parkinsons

  • Have a neuro-motor condition such as Cerebral Palsy or Spina Bifida 

  • Have a physical condition that limits their ability to have freedom of movements, such as scoliosis or paralysis or amputation.

Tell me more about Neuromovement?

This is a very gentle method based on neuroplasticity principles that look to form new connections and wake a brain up to new possibilities in the way we move, think, feel and react to the world around us. 

NeuroMovement® can be done in two different ways:

 

Transformational Movement Lessons (TML), where participants are verbally guided through specific, highly crafted sequences of gentle movements while lying, sitting or standing. As the participants move slowly with attention and explore variations in your movement, they will discover and build on new neural pathways that create possibilities for easier movement and improve your capacity for coping with changes and challenges.

 

Functional Synthesis Lessons (FS), where NeuroMovement® practitioners gently move and guide the participant's body. As the participants explore, the nervous system adjusts and new synaptic connections are formed. People frequently experience greater calmness  and organization of their mind and emotions, alongside greater ease, strength and flexibility of movement.

 

WHAT ARE THE NINE ESSENTIALS?

The method’s approach is founded in neuroscience, and supported by cutting edge neuroplasticity research. From this research we understand that the brain is dynamic, remodelling and adapting itself continuously based on individual experiences. These essentials are the foundations of how our nervous system is able to form new connections, create new pathways and adopt new cognitive, emotional and physical abilities. 

If given the brain the right conditions, scientific studies have proven that the brain is adaptable and can form new functions and new ways of thinking. The nine essentials give the brain an opportunity to create differentiation in thinking, movement and feeling. This will help the nervous system regulate and the brain to make sense out of the stimulation and input it perceives and, in turn, make it into useful information.
